Bangalore International Trade Fair 2025 – Millets and Organics a Grand Success. B2B Meeting generates Rs 185.41 crore potential business

. The fair provided a platform to honour and encourage farmers in Millets and organic Farming Sector.

The three day Fair was inaugurated on 23 rd Jan by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Karnataka Shri. Siddaramaiah along with Dy.CM DK Sivakumar, State Agriculture Minister Cheluvarayaswamy in presence of Union Minister Sobha Karanje as Chief Guest and other dignitaries by filling the Granary with Millets
The Chief Minister also laid The foundation stone of the “Organic and Millet Hub (Millet Hub)” which is being established at Hebbal, Bengaluru at a cost of Rs.20.00 crore.
There were 114 karnataka pavilion stalls, 170 paid stalls, 17 stalls of other States (Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Orissa, Chhattisgarh, Puducherry, Kerala, Bihar, Maharashtra, Sikkim, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Meghalaya, Assam, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand), 15 stalls of landraces, a separate soil pedon pavilion, 1 international stall and 20 food stalls accounting to more than 337 stalls.There were 114 karnataka pavilion stalls, 170 paid stalls, 17 stalls of other States (Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Orissa, Chhattisgarh, Puducherry, Kerala, Bihar, Maharashtra, Sikkim, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Meghalaya, Assam, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand), 15 stalls of landraces, a separate soil pedon pavilion, 1 international stall and 20 food stalls accounting to more than 337 stalls.
During the fair, 105 marketers/exporters and 194 manufacturers/producers participated in around 185 B2B meetings and the total estimated market value of the meetings was ₹185.41 crore.
Representatives from Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Australia, Kenya, Tanzania, Italy, England, and Peru participated in the fair.
International Conference: 61 eminent speakers delivered lectures including 16 International speakers of 9 countries of 6 continents in 6 sessions of conference on the theme “Transformation of agrifood systems through agroecology: A global and regional perspective“in collaboration with GIZ, Germany and FiBL, Switzerland.
A farmers’ workshop was organised in coordination with scientists from the University of Agriculture Sciences, Bengaluru.
Experts addressed the gathering on farmers’ experience in organics and millets, the latest developments, best practices, market scenario and technology in the organics millets sector in 24 sessions.
Progressive farmers, university professors, students, and others participated in the workshop
Various States such as Sikkim, Meghalaya, Odisha, Assam, Bihar, Kerala, and Andhra Pradesh showcased organic food grains and millets unique to their regions in stalls
Processed millet products, ready-to-eat snacks, and millet-based powders were a major highlight.
The fair provided a platform for all stakeholders to share knowledge, expertise and business practices on the importance of soil, and the introduction and continuation of the heritage of desi seeds farming apart from the organic and millet sector.
Cultural Programmes: Various desi/folk cultural programs like veena, karaga, hulivesha, chande & violin, folksong, saxophone, drama, various dance forms were also performed in between the workshop.
More than three lakh public participated in the fair Agriculture Minister N. Cheluvarayaswamy and MLA C.N. Ashwath Narayan presided over the valedictory ceremony.
